BAKSA: Baksa District Commissioner Gautam Das chaired a series of significant district-level meetings at the DC Conference Hall in Mushalpur on February 19. These included discussions on the District Development Committee (DDC), District Road Safety Committee (DRSC), and the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD).
In the DDC meeting, DC Das instructed all Heads of Departments (HoDs) to attend the live streaming of the Chief Minister’s speech during the Advantage Assam event on February 25, 2025.
He also highlighted the importance of the upcoming Jhumur Binandini programme and directed officials to ensure its smooth execution. A review of departmental activities and government scheme implementations was also conducted.
The DRSC meeting focused on assessing road safety measures across the district, with Superintendent of Police (SP) Ujjal Pratim Baruah and Additional SP Marylyn Zawlsamgmawi attending the discussions on improving safety strategies.
In the NCORD meeting, the need for better inter-departmental coordination in addressing drug-related crimes was emphasized. Officials were encouraged to strengthen their collaborative efforts to combat the increasing drug issue in the region.
These meetings underscored the district’s commitment to good governance and its proactive approach to addressing key challenges such as road safety and drug control.
Earlier this month, Minister of Welfare of Bodoland, Urkhao Gwra Brahma, chaired a review meeting in Baksa, discussing road projects and Model Anganwadi Centres in presence of Deputy Commissioner Gautam Das and MCLA Mantu Baro.
