Assam: Barak Valley records worst-ever HSLC result

SILCHAR: Barak Valley recorded one of their worst results in the HSLC as only 52.64 percent of the total 52,497 examinees from the three districts could make it to the list of the successful candidates. In Cachar, altogether 25,631 candidates appeared in this year’s examination and only 13,221 passed. Pass percentage was 51.58 %. 4506 came out with the 1st division followed by 6519 2nd and 1957 3rd divisions.

Sribhumi, which stood last in the district-wise results in the entire state, recorded a miserable 47.96 percent pass. Out of the total 17,053 candidates only 8,160 could pass out with 2582 in 1st division, 3686 in 2nd, and 1639 in 3rd division.

In Hailakandi, out of total 9,813 candidates, 5,730 could register pass marks (58.38%) with 1,794 1st divisions, 2883 2nd, and 882 3rd divisions.
