Assam: Biswanath BPHC Holds National Dengue Day at Monai Jaisidhi High School

JAMUGURIHAT: An awareness programme on National Dengue Day, convened by the Block Primary Health Centre, Biswanath in association with Nagsankar NPHC, was held at Monai Jaisidhi High School on Friday. The awareness meeting was held in the conference hall of the school with Bhaben Nath, headmaster in chair. The meeting was addressed by Dr Bikramaditya Boro, medical and health officer, New Nagsankar PHC as a resource person. Dr Boro stated about the adverse effects of dengue on our health and stated about preventive measures. The programme was attended by Bipul Saikia, malaria Surveillance Inspector, Hitesh Kalita, Multi Tasking staff, MPWs, ASHAs, SWs besides others. The event was attended by more than 150 local residents, students, and teachers. Blood samples of nearly 100 people were collected besides medicating mosquito nets of more than fifty local residents, informed Bipul Saikia, SI, health department, Biswanath. It is to be mentioned here that National Dengue Day is observed on May 16 every year.
