KHERONI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) West Karbi Anglong District Committee organized a vibrant Tiranga Yatra in Hamren on Monday as part of a nationwide outreach campaign celebrating “Operation Sindoor.” Participants, proudly carrying the tri-colour, marched from Sai-Ali to New Market in Hamren, West Karbi Anglong.

The yatra was led by Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, alongside Member of Parliament Amarsing Tisso, MLA Rupsing Teron (Baithalangso), MLA Bidya Sing Engleng (Diphu), and Radip Ronghang, District President of BJP West Karbi Anglong District Committee. The procession included several Executive Members, MAC Headsing Rongphar, Pritom Rongpi, General Secretary of BJP WKADC, Krishna Sharma, senior BJP leader of Hamren, Mandal Committee office bearers, and dedicated party workers. The event symbolized unity and patriotism, aligning with the objectives of the nationwide initiative.

The BJP launched an 11-day Tiranga Yatra across India starting May 12, aimed at rallying public support and pride in the Indian armed forces following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor. The operation, a strategic military response to the Pahalgam terror attack, targeted terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The yatra, concluding on May 23, seeks to unite citizens, including ex-servicemen, community leaders, and social figures, in a collective display of national pride.

A senior BJP leader stated that the initiative aims to inform the public about the strategic and symbolic significance of Operation Sindoor, emphasizing India’s resolute stand against terrorism. The Tiranga Yatra in West Karbi Anglong and across the country underscores the BJP’s commitment to fostering patriotism and honoring the bravery of the armed forces.
