Guwahati: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam will launched a fundraising drive across the state from and it has set a target of collecting Rs 100 crore to its workers through donations.

Reportedly, the drive will start from January 1 and will end on 31st January.

Speaking during an event on Saturday, BJP, Assam president Bhabesh Kalita claimed that people from all fields and professions there in our party who will contribute.

''We have 45 lakhs party members and pary-wise we have 40 districts. Targets will be fixed for each district. The party will reach out to party workers and has set a target of collecting Rs 100 crore,'' he added.

According to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the collected amount will be made into a fixed deposit and its interest will be used to run the BJP offices at the district as well as the mandal level.
