ORANG: Even though the exact date for the upcoming BTC Council election is yet to be officially announced, sources indicate that polling is likely to be held in the third week of September. In the meantime, political activities have gained momentum across the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) area, with all major parties ramping up their campaign efforts.

On August 7 at 4 PM, the BPF Khourang primary committee organized a booth committee workshop at the premises of the Dhanashree Irrigation Dam Users’ Association office in Khourang Chowk. The event was attended by candidate Rihon Daimari himself, who provided training to booth committee members on party discipline, public engagement, booth management, gathering public feedback, and addressing local issues within the primary committee’s jurisdiction.

Although the programme was primarily aimed at booth committee leaders and members, more than 500 people from the area attended voluntarily, reflecting the growing popularity of the party.

The workshop also saw the presence of BPF Bhairabkunda Block Committee President Soneswar Owary, former Councillor Ripen Daimari, and several senior party workers. A highlight of the event was the joining of 35 new members into the BPF, further strengthening the party’s base ahead of the polls.
