According to the information that has been received, the accident happened at Nathpara in NH 17 in Chapar, Assam's Dhubri district.

The accident-prone automobile was a member of the bridegroom's party. Reports state that the car's driver lost control and slammed into a roadside tree.

The catastrophe resulted in the immediate death of one woman and the immediate serious injuries of two others, including the newlywed bride.

Nafisa Sultana has been identified as the deceased woman. After the wedding, the party was travelling back from Guwahati to Dhubri when the catastrophe happened.

All of the injured were sent right away and were in serious condition when they arrived at a hospital in Bongaigaon.

A vehicle was struck by a truck earlier on February 26, in Meghalaya's Ri Bhoi district, resulting in the deaths of up to six people.

Initial reports state that the disaster happened near Sumer, Meghalaya, when a cement truck crashed into a Bolero carrying the victims.

At Sumer in Meghalaya, the cement-laden truck's driver lost control of the wheel as it was travelling towards Guwahati. The truck struck the divider and veered into the opposing lane, striking a Bolero that was approaching from the opposite direction.

According to reports, the accident in Meghalaya claimed the lives of all six people inside the car, including the driver, priest, and three nuns from a missionary school headquartered in Bongaigaon, Assam.

The Bongaigaon bishop, Thomas Pulloppillil, wrote, "With great sadness, I wish to inform you that Fr. Mathew Das, parish priest of Barama Parish, along with three sisters of the Fatima convent in Barama and Baganpara and a teacher of Barama St. John's HS School, met with a fatal accident on the way to Shillong near Nongpoh in Meghalaya and died on the spot."
