Assam: Cachar DC Keerthi Jalli Appointed DC Of Kamrup Rural

GUWAHATI: The deputy commissioner (DC) of Assam's Cachar district, Keerthi Jalli has been transferred and appointed as the DC of Kamrup Rural district in the state.

Additionally, Keerthi Jalli will take responsibility for Guwahati Biotech Park as CEO and CEO of Assam Biotechnology Council.

Jalli had been appointed as the DC of Cachar replacing former DC Barnali Sharma after a crisis had hit Cachar during the COVID-induced pandemic. Further, Rohan Kumar Jha has been transferred from Hailakandi to replace Jalli.

"In the interest of public service, Sri Rohan Kumar Jha, IAS (RR-2015)' Deputy Commissioner, Hailakandi, Assam is transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Cachar," the order states.

Meanwhile, Hivare Nisarg Gautam will be the new DC of Hailakandi, he was serving as DC Nagaon.

Earlier, Jalli had received praise on the internet after her pictures of wading through mud to take stock of the situation in flood and landslide-hit regions during the recent floods in Assam.

Born in 1989 in Warangal, Telangana, Jalli became an IAS officer at the age of just 23, clearing the UPSC in 2012.
