JAMUGURIHAT: The centenary celebration of the Naduar Regional Nath Yogi Sanmilan began at Khadoichuk on Monday. It began with the inauguration of a water lifting programme on Monday morning. The flag of the centenary celebration was hoisted after thousands of women filled their pitchers with water and performed devotional songs.

The flag was hoisted by Padma Hazarika, MLA Naduar LAC, and President of the centenary celebration of Naduar Nath Yogi Sanmilan. Addressing the session, the MLA spoke about the history and origin of the Nath-Yogis. He traced the contributions of the Nath-Yogis in the Assamese nation-building process. The Naduar Regional Nath Yogi Sanmilan will celebrate its centenary with a year-long programme.

After the flag hoisting ceremony, a felicitation ceremony was held at Khadoichuk Namghar premises in the presence of devotees. Lohit Nath’s Assamese translation of Ramcharitmanas, originally done by Tulsidas, was unveiled in the meeting. The closing ceremony of the inaugural session will be held on Tuesday.

The closing ceremony of the centenary celebration of Nath Yogi Sammelan will be held in May 2026 with a three-day programme, informed Mintu Nath, Secretary of the celebration committee.
