ASSAM: Centre Sanctions ₹45.31 Cr for Mangaldoi–Mazikuchi Road in Assam

Guwahati: The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has approved ₹45.31 crore for the construction of a 15-kilometre road from KM 11+000 to KM 26+200 on the Mangaldoi–Mazikuchi route under the NESIDS – Roads scheme.

The new road will link Mangaldoi in Darrang to Bhergaon in Udalguri, cutting travel by 7.2 km and improving regional mobility. It will also enhance access to seven educational institutions, including Deomornoi College, and heritage sites like Pathurighat Krishak Shahid Memorial and Khotora Satra.

Fully funded by the Centre, the project is part of the government’s broader push to bridge infrastructure gaps in the Northeast.
