RAHA: The Chaparmukh Railway Station is also among the railway stations to be redeveloped under the new project launched by prime minister Narendra Modi. And in line with the foundation stone laying ceremony of the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country including Chaparmukh station, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an event was organised at Chaparmukh today. Former Railways Minister Rajen Gohain, Nagaon MLA Rupak Sharma and Raha MLA Sashikanta Das also attended this event.

In his speech, the minister mentioned the efforts taken by the prime minister towards the modernisation and betterment of the transport sector of the country. He also mentioned the steps taken by the government towards re-establishing the Indian Railways as the favoured mode of public transportation in the country. He also stated that these initiatives undertaken by the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme will revolutionise the sector by developing the railway infrastructure across the country.

In a groundbreaking move to transform the face of railway stations across India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the ambitious "Amrit Bharat Station Scheme." The scheme envisions the redevelopment of 508 railway stations spread across 27 states and union territories, catering to the needs of millions of passengers daily. Utilizing the power of technology, PM Modi virtually inaugurated the commencement of this transformative project via video conferencing, marking a significant milestone in the country's transportation infrastructure development.

The redevelopment plan encompasses a diverse range of railway stations, including 55 in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan each, 49 in Bihar, 44 in Maharashtra, 37 in West Bengal, 34 in Madhya Pradesh, 32 in Assam, 25 in Odisha, 22 in Punjab, and 21 each in Gujarat and Telangana. Additionally, 20 stations in Jharkhand, and 18 each in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, showcase the scope and scale of this monumental undertaking. Further, Haryana and Karnataka will witness the redevelopment of 15 and 13 railway stations, respectively.
