Assam CM Attends Tai Ethnic Cultural Festival and International Tai Youth Festival

DIBRUGARH: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended the 3rd 'Tai Ethnic Cultural Festival' and the 1st 'International Tai Youth Festival' on January 26 in Tengakhat, Dibrugarh district, organized by the United Tai Ethnic Socio-Cultural Organization.

CM Sarma highlighted the significant contributions of the Tai Ahoms to the political, social, cultural, and economic development in the history of Assam.

While addressing the 3rd Tai Ethnic Cultural Festival & 1st International Tai Youth Festival, CM Sarma highlighted key initiatives by the Assam Government: Charaideo Maidam recognized as a World Heritage Site, initiatives for the preservation of the Rang Ghar, Museum at Swargadeo Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha Samanway Kshetra, 52-foot statue of Chaolung Siu-Ka-Pha at Tipam, and Statue of Lachit Barphukan at Hollongapar.

Earlier, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal attended the third Tai Ethnic Cultural Festival held in Tengakhat, Dibrugarh. The festival showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Tai-Ahom community, with vibrant displays of art, cuisine, attire, and other traditions.

Former Assam CM Sonowal emphasized the significance of preserving and promoting the Tai-Ahom community's illustrious history and cultural legacy, which reflect Assam's unity and strength. Speaking at the event, Sarbananda Sonowal said, "The Tai community has a strong socio-cultural history that continues to inspire the younger generation.
