Bajali: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has acknowledged the efforts of the Bajali district administration for their innovative ‘Sparsh’ initiative, designed to support senior citizens aged 90 and above.
Through this program, nearly 400 elderly individuals have been identified, with health checkups conducted at their homes. Comprehensive health reports are being maintained for each person, ensuring specialized and ongoing care to safeguard their physical and mental well-being.
The Chief Minister praised the administration for its inclusive approach, highlighting how the initiative provides essential support to the super senior citizens of the district. He expressed appreciation for the dedication shown by officials and healthcare workers in implementing the program.
This initiative is seen as a significant step in prioritizing the well-being of the elderly, reflecting a compassionate and proactive governance model aimed at ensuring dignity and care for all members of the community.
Recently, Bajali emerged victorious in the girls’ category of the 58th All Assam Inter-District Junior Volleyball Championship, held at Goalpara. In the final match, Bajali showcased exceptional skill and teamwork, defeating Moran in straight sets with scores of 25-10, 25-16, and 25-22.
The team’s stellar performance throughout the tournament culminated in their well-deserved championship win. Jonali Boro of Bajali was named the best player in the girls’ category, recognizing her outstanding contributions and leadership on the court.
This achievement highlights Bajali’s dominance in junior volleyball and their commitment to nurturing young sporting talent in the region.
