Assam CM Discusses Several Health Related Issues With Mansukh Mandaviya

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday discussed several health issues with Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.

The discussions were held during a meeting at Mandaviya's official residence in New Delhi.

Assam CM apprised the Union Health Minister of various steps being taken by the state government to tackle health-related issues which have knocked on the door after the recent floods.

Besides this, both the leaders also discussed ways to implement Ayushman Bharat - Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Taking the micro-blogging site Twitter, CM Sarma informed the same and said, ''"Met Hon'ble Union Minister, Health & Family Welfare Dr @mansukhmandviya at his official residence in New Delhi. We discussed issues related to Assam, especially measures taken by our government to tackle health conditions during and post-flood scenario in the affected districts."

Meanwhile, the state is facing Japanese Encephalitis (JE) as a vector-borne disease that claimed one life today and the Health fraternity detected 15 fresh cases in the state on Friday.

The break-up of the 15 new JE cases is Baksa-2, Chirang-1, Dibrugarh-1, Goalpara-1, Golaghat-1, Nagaon-3, Jorhat-2, Charaideo-1, Sivasagar-1, Tinsukia-1, and Nalbari-1.

The cumulative JE cases reported this season (July onward) are 251. The cumulative JE toll this season (July onward) is 38.
