Assam CM Distributes Appointment Letters To 884 TET Qualified Teachers Under KAAC

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma gave appointment letters to TET qualified teachers under KAAC in a programme organized at the Joysing Doley Memorial Auditorium in Karbi Anglong. Appointment letters have been distributed to a total of 884 candidates who qualified for the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) in different categories under KAAC (Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council). The TET qualified teachers are appointed on a contractual and regular basis which includes 108 Assistant Teachers in Upper primary, 192 Assistant Teachers in PED (Primary Education Department) and 25 Math and Science Teachers. Moreover, a total of 559 Assistant Teachers have been appointed on a contractual basis in the Axom Sarba Siksha Mission. The chief minister took to Twitter to inform about the distribution of appointment letters to the qualified candidates and urged the Karbi Anglong citizens to be vigilant about the teachers' performances. Apart from this, the CM also distributed financial assistance (insurance premium) to 32 DIPR (Directorate of Information & Public Relations) registered and recognized media persons. During the programme at Joysing Doley Memorial Auditorium on Friday, CM Sarma also announced Rupees one lakh each to 34 eminent writers from the West Karbi Anglong and Karbi Anglong districts. A total of 88 law graduates of the districts also get Rupees 15,000 each as informed by CM Sarma via his Twitter handle. In addition, the chief minister also helped the families of the deceased journalists through financial support by providing Rupees 50,000 to each. Sarma during his speech in the session said that Karbi Anglong has had a renaissance of development in past years and there is a new beginning in the advancement of the districts. He added that the Assam government is continuously working for the development of the health and education sector in the region. The CM further asked the teachers to be responsible socially as they are entrusted by the government with the major duty of making human resources. Sarma claimed that a majority of TET qualified teachers in Assam since 2012 to 2013 have been allocated to Karbi Anglong but academically the situation remains the same with no improvement and enrollment has decreased.
