Assam CM Himanta Biswa Donates Rs 3 Lakh to CM's Relief Fund as Personal Contribution to Fight COVID

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has donated Rs 3 lakh to CM relief fund (CMRF) as a personal contribution to fight COVID-19 pandemic.

The Twitter handle of Chief Minister Assam posted, "CM @himantabiswa today donated Rs 3 Lakh to Chief Minister's Relief Fund as personal contribution towards procurement of #Covid vaccine. Through the contribution, the CM intends to help in strengthening the campaign against the pandemic while playing his part in the #janandolan."

As the number of COVID cases is increasing across the country, the CM, MLA Ranjit Dutta, as well as several organisations, have contributed to the CM's relief fund for fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

Behali MLA Ranjit Dutta donated Rs 1 lakh from his salary and 2 lakh from his Gangmou Tea Co to CMRF. Chief Minister Assam tweeted, "MLA Ranjit Dutta yesterday donated Rs 1 lakh from his salary and 2 lakh from his Gangmou Tea Co to CMRF. A total Rs 10,84,000 from Nameri Const, Samiran Infra, Samiran Tea, Kaziranga tea, Kaziranga Enterprise, Behali tea was also presented by him."

Advocate and Assam Cricket Association Secretary Devajit Saikia donated Rs 1 lakh to CMRF for vaccine purchase. "Advocate General of Assam @lonsaikia today met CM @himantabiswa and donated Rs 1 lakh to CMRF for vaccine purchase. The CM thanked him and said it would be a great boost to the #Covid vaccination drive and make it a #janandolan," the Chief Minister Assam tweeted.

Jehirul Islam, President AAAPTA and Chairman, MJI Group, donated Rs 50,000 to CMRF. Chief Minister Assam tweeted, "President AAAPTA and Chairman, MJI Group @IslamJehir called on @himantabiswa today and donated Rs 50,000 to CMRF. While appreciating the contribution, the CM said that these contributions would turn vaccination drive into a #massmovement."

Arup Barpujary, proprietor, ABC Engineering, donated Rs. 51,000 towards CMRF. "Sri Arup Barpujary, proprietor, ABC Engineering today called on CM @himantabiswa and donated Rs. 51,000 towards CMRF. CM thanked the gesture saying the move would greatly help #COVID vaccination campaign," Chief Minister Assam tweeted.

The representatives of Dalmia Cement committed to install an oxygen generation plant of 30 Mtr Cube/per hr capacity at Hojai Govt. Hospital. Chief Minister Assam tweeted, "Representatives of @MyDalmiaCement @DalmiaBharat met CM @himantabiswa and pledged their commitment to install an Oxygen generation plant of 30 Mtr Cube/per hr capacity at Hojai Govt. Hospital. The CM thanked them for the gesture and termed it true example of social responsibility."

Similarly, Dainandin Barta Editor Shankar Gohain contributed Rs 50,001 towards CMRF for COVID vaccination campaign. Chief Minister Assam tweeted, "Sri Shankar Gohain, Editor, Dainandin Barta today met CM @himantabiswa and contributed Rs 50,001 towards CMRF for #Covid vaccination campaign. While appreciating the gesture, the CM said that these contributions would turn vaccination drive into a mass movement."

The proprietor of Daffodil Nursery Dr Dhrubajyoti Sarma and Rekha Sarma has handed over a cheque worth Rs.4 lakh as contribution towards CMRF. "Dr.Dhrubajyoti Sarma and Smti Rekha Sarma, proprietor of Daffodil Nursery called on CM @himantabiswa and handed over a cheque worth Rs.4 lakh as contribution towards CMRF. The CM thanked them while asserting that the donation would boost the #COVID vaccination drive in the State," it tweeted.
