
Guwahati: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived at Dibrugarh airport this afternoon, marking the beginning of his official tour across Dibrugarh and Tinsukia.
On the first day, he is scheduled to visit Burha Burhi Than in Chapakhowa, Tinsukia, and participate in the Bhumi Pujan for a new water supply project.
On July 23, the Chief Minister will preside over a series of review meetings at the CM’s Secretariat with MLAs and officials of Sonari, Nowboicha, and Tingkhong constituencies.
On July 24 he is set to visit Dibrugarh University to lay the foundation stone for infrastructure upgrades under PM-USHA and the CM’s Special Grant. Following this he will head to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in the noon to lay the foundation stone for proposed teachers’ quarters and new hostel. Later that afternoon, he will visit Naharkatia to inaugurate and lay foundations for multiple projects including a Co-District Office, Hockey Stadium, Tata Strive Centre of Excellence, handover of ITI to SEED, a road overbridge, two model schools, and the new BJP Mandal Office.
On the final day, July 25, Dr. Sarma will lay the foundation for proposed offices of the Chief Secretary and Ministers, as well as a new convention centre at the CM’s Secretariat Campus in Dibrugarh. He will then hold a review meeting for the Margherita constituency before returning to Guwahati in the afternoon, concluding his visit.
His visit is anticipated to significantly enhance the development and administrative fortification of Upper Assam.
