
GUWAHATI: The Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma held a meeting with the delegation of the newly elected committee members of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP) at Janata Bhawan on Saturday.
The delegation, led by SAKP President Dipen Sarma and Secretary General Pankaj Barman, discussed several important issues during the meeting. It includes proposed amendments to service rules, enhancements to the Apun Ghar housing scheme, and revisions to the retirement age for government employees, all designed to address the needs and aspirations of state government employees while aligning with the evolving dynamics of workforce management.
Another important discussion was the need for cashless treatment facilities at health institutions for government employees and their dependents, along with other important issues that have a significant impact on the welfare and interests of the state's workforce.
The delegates of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for his proactive approach and willingness to listen to and address their concerns. Dr. Sarma assured them that their submissions would be carefully considered and reiterated his government’s commitment to protecting and advancing the welfare of the state’s employees.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. KK Dwivedi, senior officials of the Government of Assam, and the newly elected committee members of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad.
