GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that he will be in Singapore for two days starting tomorrow to promote the state’s potential in sectors like semiconductors, deep technology, infrastructure and manufacturing.

During his visit, a roadshow will be held, and one-on-one meetings with industry leaders will take place to discuss strategic collaborations and investment opportunities. The main aim of the trip is to position Assam as an emerging hub for advanced industries and innovation. This initiative is part of the state's efforts to attract investment and foster growth in key sectors for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit.

Meanwhile, the Assam government has appointed four Assam Civil Service (ACS) officers to the Outreach and Invitation Committee for the Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment & Infrastructure Summit, 2025. Their primary responsibility will be managing invitations and following up on the agreements (MoUs) made during the summit.

The appointed officers include Rahul Phukan, Deputy Secretary in the Election Department and Joint Chief Electoral Officer of Assam, who will oversee the follow-up of MoUs. Dhrubajyoti Nath, Joint Commissioner of Panchayat and Rural Development, Assam, will assist in outreach efforts. Munmi Saikia, Secretary and Administrative Officer of the Assam Board of Revenue, along with Manabendra Bharali, Under Secretary in the Election Department, will also be part of the team.

Advantage Assam 2.0 is a significant initiative aimed at attracting investments to Assam, positioning the state as a key business hub in Northeast India and a gateway to Southeast Asia.
