BARPETA: In a significant move to preserve Vaishnavite heritage in Barpeta, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate key projects at Sri Sri Patbausi Satra on Friday, March 14, with the aim of strengthening the cultural and religious legacy of Assam. With an investment of approximately Rs. 19 crore, these initiatives will enhance tourism pilgrimage and local employment in Barpeta.

Similarly, CM Sarma laid the foundation stone for two key projects in Rani Chapori on March 7. A 250-meter pontoon bridge connecting Mojoli-Rani Chapori was inaugurated, which is set to enhance connectivity and boost agriculture and the local economy at a cost of Rs 1.50 crore.

Another electrification project was also inaugurated, which will support agricultural activities and benefit 400 families at a cost of Rs. 6.54 crore.

Meanwhile, the growth and development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) continue to inspire progress, with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laying the foundation stone for the administrative building of Kokrajhar University earlier in February.

The university, envisioned as a center of excellence, will offer advanced courses in fields such as AI, robotics, and more. A funding of Rs. 50 crore has been announced for its development, further strengthening the region's educational infrastructure.
