KOKRAJHAR: The growth and development in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) continues to inspire progress, with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laying the foundation stone for the administrative building of Kokrajhar University.

The university, envisioned as a center of excellence, will offer advanced courses in fields such as AI, robotics, and more. A funding of Rs. 50 crore has been announced for its development, further strengthening the region's educational infrastructure.

Earlier, In a significant move for the welfare of the tea garden community in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the Anandalaya Bhawan of Vivekananda Kendra in Dibrugarh. The newly inaugurated building is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the tea tribe community, with a focus on skill development.

At the opening, CM Sarma thanked Vivekananda Kendra for helping young people in Assam, especially those from tea garden areas. The new Anandalaya Bhawan will focus on skill training. CM Sarma also announced Rs. 5 lakh for the family of late music artist Rajib Sadia. He also mentioned plans to discuss future support for artists like Sadia, recognizing their significant contributions to the state’s cultural heritage.

CM Sarma was confident that Anandalaya Bhawan would become an important place for skill training, giving students from the tea tribe community the skills they need for a better future.
