Guwahati: Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, is doing everything in his power to show investors the state's potential at the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, which will take place in Guwahati on February 25 and 26.
CM Sarma, who met with 36 foreign dignitaries in New Delhi on Tuesday, highlighted the states' potential for investors, ranging from the semiconductor industry to tourism, and noted that President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar will be present during the summit.
Additionally, Mr. Sarma encouraged ambassadors to travel to Assam on February 24 to see the 8,000-dancers perform the Jhumur dance, which PM Modi will also be attending.
He stated, "We are not in a position to tell investors to choose this or that sector," while guaranteeing green power to Assamese investors. He added he'll let them decide for themselves where to invest their money.
The second leg of an international roadshow on Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit was held in Thailand on Friday by a delegation headed by Assam IT and science and technology minister Keshab Mahanta in an effort to make it a huge success.
This follows the triumphant road concerts in New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bhutan. In a social media post, the Indian embassy in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, stated that the Assam delegation had a productive meeting with Thai hospitality and tourism industry executives.
Additionally, Mr. Mahanta met with Russ Jalichandra, Thailand's vice-minister for foreign affairs, to discuss ways to improve relations between Assam and Thailand.
