Assam CM Slams Kejriwal Again, Asks Him To Compare Delhi With New York & Tokyo

Guwahati: After a Twitter feud with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, on Sunday asserted the national capital should be compared to 'New York and Tokyo instead of Shillong and Guwahati.

The Assam CM added that he doesn't have resources as good as Delhi but he runs 40,000 schools compared to Kejriwal running 1200.

"Delhi has been the capital of India since the time of the Mughals. He should compare Delhi to New York and Tokyo instead of comparing it to Guwahati and Shillong. I don't have as good a resource as Delhi, but he leads 1,200 schools and I run 40,000 schools there," Sarma added.

On Sunday itself, taking to the micro-blogging site Twitter, the Assam CM also reminded Kejriwal of his promises that he came to power with the promise to make Delhi a city like London and Paris. However, the Kejriwal government could not fulfill its promise and was now comparing Delhi to Assam and the small cities of the Northeast.

He further said that if the BJP comes to power in Delhi, it will make Delhi one of the most developed cities in the world.

Interestingly, the argument between the two CMs began last week after Kejriwal on some news reports claiming that the Assam government is mulling closing schools whose performing percentages are zero opined that the closing of schools was not a solution.

The debate continued on Sunday with the AAP leader repeatedly asking when he could come to see the schools of the northeastern state.

"Kejriwal ji wanted me to invite him to Assam. I have already invited Manish Sisodia, he must have got a notice from the Court as well. He (Arvind Kejriwal) should also come if he wants," Sarma said in response.

On the other hand, Kejriwal, on Saturday, repeated his question asking 'if the government schools in the northeastern state are not up to the mark.' "You didn't answer my question - "When should I come to see your government school?" It doesn't matter if the school is not good. Will do it right together," the AAP chief tweeted.
