Assam CM Sonowal visits historic Chamaria Sattra in Kamrup

Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal today visited the historical Chamaria Satra in Assam's Kamrup district.

Sri Sri Bar Vishnu Than, Chamaria Satra located at Chamaria in Kamrup district is known to be one of the oldest satras in Assam, while the Chamaria satra was established in 1588.

He also paid respects to the Gurujona. He also raised the foundation stone for the construction of a boundary wall of the satra.

"Established in 1588, Sri Sri Bar Vishnu Atar Than, Chamaria Satra at Chamaria, Kamrup is the one of the oldest satras in Assam. Visited the Satra and offered my respects to the Gurujona. Also laid the foundation stone for construction of a boundary wall of the Satra", Sonowal later tweeted.
