Assam CM to Chair Electronics Roundtable in Delhi Today; Focus on ECMS and Jagiroad ATMP

NEW DELHI: In a significant move, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will chair the Assam Electronics Roundtable today, May 26, in New Delhi, bringing together industry leaders to discuss ECMS, state initiatives, and the Tata Semiconductor ATMP facility at Jagiroad, advancing Assam’s journey in electronics & semiconductors.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 13 virtually laid the foundation stone for the Tata Group’s ₹27,000-crore indigenous “Semiconductor Assembly & Test Facility” at Jagiroad in Morigaon district.

Meanwhile, the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025, held on May 23-24, concluded on Saturday, May 24, with significant investment announcements made on the first day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the summit on May 23.

In his valedictory address, the Union Minister of Communications and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, said that the Northeast has emerged as a hub of global partnership and mutual interest.

The minister informed that the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 drew an unprecedented Rs 4.3 lakh crore in investment interest, setting the stage for the Northeast Region (NER) to become India’s next economic powerhouse.

The minister said, “We welcomed delegations from over 80 countries — from Japan to Europe to ASEAN nations—and there was one unanimous sentiment: India’s future lies in the Northeast.” Jyotiraditya M. Scindia praised PM Modi for not just recognizing the vast potential of the Northeastern region but also embracing it.
