LUMDING: An accident took place on the National Highway number 27 between Lanka and Lumding on Tuesday. Two people were injured in the accident.

The coal-laden vehicle bearing registration number RJ 14 GD 7497 overturned on the national highway while trying to take a S- bend. The truck was reportedly on its way carrying coal from Sivsagar to Lumding when it met with the accident.

Both the driver and his helper were reportedly injured in the accident, following which they were shifted to a medical facility. The driver was identified as Umej Singh and his helper as Mani Ram Bisnoi, both residents of Rajasthan.

Previously, in a heart-wrenching incident that occurred on a Sunday evening, a collision between an Innova car and a truck in the Leptakatta area of Dibrugarh district, Assam, left two individuals dead and five others in critical condition. The accident transpired on September 10, sending shockwaves through the community. The ill-fated victims were traveling in an Innova car with the registration number AS-01-JC 3076. Tragically, this vehicle collided head-on with a truck bearing Haryana registration plates, creating a scene of devastation that would change the lives of many forever.

The deceased have been identified as Pushpa Surekha Agarwal, aged 65, and the car's driver. Their untimely demise has cast a pall of sorrow over their loved ones and the local community. The injured survivors are undergoing intensive treatment at the hospital and include Satish Kumar Agarwal (45), Pompy Agarwal (42), Krishna Kumar Agarwal (25), Nirmal Kumar Agarwal (70), Namal Agarwal, and Golo Agarwal. The poignant aspect of this tragedy is that all the victims, both deceased and injured, belong to the same family and hail from the ABC area in Guwahati city, underscoring the magnitude of the loss suffered by this close-knit group.
