Assam completes 40 lakh COVID tests

Guwahati: Assam has completed 40 lakh tests for COVID-19. The Health and Family Welfare Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma shared an infographic regarding the same on Facebook.

The infographic shows that just 1 lakh tests were completed until May. However, with the increase in the number of cases, the number of tests increased too. Till October 13, Assam has completed a total of 40,76,126 lakh COVID tests. "We remain committed to fighting against the pandemic," said Sarma.

Through the post on Facebook, Sarma expressed his gratitude to everyone who has stood by the government in these testing times, especially the healthcare professionals of the state.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam is more than 1,96,000. The number of fatalities is 830, while there are around 28897 active cases as of October 14.
