Guwahati: Assam finance and health minister today in Morigaon district alleged that the Congress leaders are cozying up to AIUDF Chief Badruddin Ajmal and their headquarters in Guwahati (Rajiv Bhawan) should be renamed as 'Ajmal Bhawan'

Launching a scathing attack at the rival Congress camp, Himanta Biswa Sarma stated, "Once the Congress and AIUDF join hands, the few indigenous people in the Congress camp shall disappear from their camp", Sarma said.

The Minister said that the Congress' alliance with the AIUDF shall push many Congress leaders towards the saffron party. "The Congress' Bhawan shall now become Ajmal Bhawan. I myself find it sad as I was once affiliated with the Congres", he stated.

Taking potshots at bitter rival Tarun Gooi, Biswa Sarma claimed that the veteran's current "pro-Ajmal" status is baffling as he rode to Power by opposing Ajmal and his policies.

"He rode to power by questioning who Ajmal is, but now, the Congress in its entirety has been imbued with the colors of Amjal", Sarma accused.

The minister also claimed that Tarun Gogoi has lost the right to call himself a former Chief Minister of Assam. "He should not call himself a former Chief Minister as he rose to that position riding on the back of anti-Ajmal sentiments. Now that he is pro-Ajmal, the name of Rajiv Bhawan will now be changed to Ajmal Bhawan.

Sarma made these claims ahead of the high-octane election in 2021 which will see the saffron might of the Sarbananda Sonowal-led BJP unit against the collective might of rival factions Congress, AIUDF, as well as AASU (which has for long been seen as an "alternative political solution).

Yesterday, during a plasma donation camp organized by BJP workers, Sarma had predicted that the Congress' vote share shall further dwindle in the upcoming polls.
