Assam: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Batadroba Than restricted till 3pm

NAGAON: The Batadroba Thaan Management Committee restricted Rahul Gandhi’s visit to the historic Batadroba Than by 3pm on Monday on the occasion of the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of Lord Ram.

The Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, as part of his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyai Yatra’ across the nation has scheduled to visit the historic Batadroba Than, the birth place of the great saint Srimanta Sankardeva, on Monday morning to offer his prayer and asked for permission from the Than Management Committee in this regard through local Congress MLA Sibamoni Bora.

Meanwhile, the Than Management Committee urgently held a special meeting this morning to discuss the matter and during the meeting, the management committee decided to permit the Congress party icon Gandhi to visit the historic Batadroba Than after 3pm.

The committee has sent a letter to the local Congress MLA Sibamoni Bora in this regard informing that there would be no issue in Gandhi’s visit to Batadroba Than.

This stern decision of the than management committee has drawn sharp reactions among the Congress party workers in the district.
