
GUWAHATI: Constable Priya Boro of the 5th Commando Battalion has etched her name in sports history by securing a bronze medal in Wushu at the ongoing 38th National Games in Uttarakhand. This outstanding achievement not only brings pride to the State but also to the Force, showcasing the dedication and hard work Priya has invested in her training.

Meanwhile, Assam added one more medal in weightlifting in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand on Saturday. Madhusmita Baruah won a silver in 87kg category with a lift of 95 kg in snatch and 113 kg in clean and jerk. Assam ended the weightlifting event with 4 medals, three of them being silver.
Moreover, Assam entered the semi finals in 5 categories in the lawn ball. In boxing, Shiva Thapa, Ankushita Boro, Icon Mili, Arati Doley stormed into the quarterfinals in their respective categories. In badminton, Isharani Baruah won her first round match in a single event.
Similarly, Bikram Changmai won a silver medal with a timing of 2:04:23 in 200m butterfly while Astha Choudhary had to be content with a bronze medal finish in 200m butterfly event with a timing of 2:25:30. In weightlifting, Suditya won a silver in 89 kg category with a lift of 141 kg in snatch and 178 kg in clean and jerk. Khudra Panging ,who had already proceeded into the final on Friday, had to be content with a silver in the below 75 kg sanda category.
