Assam: Couple Held For Allegedly Torturing Minor Domestic Help In Golaghat

Guwahati: Guwahati police Friday apprehended a couple for allegedly torturing a minor girl who worked as domestic help in Assam's Golaghat district.

As per reports, the couple identified as Nirupam Das and Pinky Saikia and both of them were arrested from Moran in Dibrugarh district.

Acting on a complaint filed by girl's family members, wherein, they stated that their daughter was harassed by her employers, the police arrested them.

Reportedly, she was working as a domestic help in the couple's house for the past one year.

The accused Nirupam Das works as an officer of the Tea Board in Sonari while Pinky Saikia is an employee of the Sericulture Department in Demow.
