Assam: Court Sentences Man To 12-Years Imprisonment For Raping And Impregnating Maid

Guwahati: A local court in Assam's Bongaigaon on Tuesday sent a person to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping his maid.

The court also sent two others, including the convict's wife to three years of prison for criminal conspiracy and helping the convict in the crime.

According to reports, the convict, identified as Amulya Pathak, who is a resident of Saonagaon of Bongaigaon district had raped and impregnated his maid.

Later, his wife and a lady made an arrangement for the abortion of the maid.

The whole incident came to light after the victim fell sick and disclosed the truth and the case was registered with Bongaigaon police in 2015.
