GUWAHATI: Police officers in Darrang and Goalpara took part in fitness activities to promote physical health and teamwork on Wednesday.

In Darrang, Mangaldai, a Mass PT (Physical Training) session was held at the Police Reserve, where many officers participated in exercises to improve strength and coordination.

At the same time, in Goalpara, the local police organized a Mass PT and a road run, with officers joining in to show their fitness and commitment to staying in good shape for their work.

Recently, a training program on "New Criminal Laws" was conducted for the UB/AB personnel of Darrang DEF, Kamrup DEF, and Nalbari DEF at the Police Reserve in Darrang, Mangaldai. The session focused on educating officers about recent updates and changes in criminal laws to enhance their understanding and ensure better law enforcement in their respective regions. This initiative aims to improve the efficiency and legal awareness of police personnel.

In a similar move, Sribhumi Police also held a workshop for their officers to familiarize them with newly introduced criminal laws like BNS, BNSS, and BSA 2023. The workshop included a written test to assess the officers' knowledge of these laws, further supporting their ability to enforce legal reforms effectively.

Earlier, a workshop on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ was held for police officials in Morigaon district as part of a 100-day campaign by Sankalp: District Hub for Empowerment of Women. This session focused on improving the sex ratio, fighting gender discrimination, and addressing issues related to women and children.
