NUMALIGARH: In a devastating fire that broke out last night in Sial Chapori, located in the middle of the Brahmaputra River under Ward No. 9 of Dicai Gaon Panchayat, Mohura Mouza, Golaghat district, the main house and kitchen of Majuli Pachung, son of Late Baburam Pachung, were completely destroyed.

According to reports, three families lived together in the same house, and the fire is suspected to have originated from the kitchen.

After the families had dinner and were asleep, the fire was noticed around midnight by the householder, who immediately raised an alarm and helped everyone evacuate safely.

However, they could not save any belongings. The farmer’s family lost stored mustard, black gram, savings, clothes, and other valuables in the fire. According to the affected family, property worth over three lakh rupees was destroyed.
