DHEKIAJULI: The quiet village of Naharbari Bengali Gaon, under the jurisdiction of Dhekiajuli Police Station, was shaken on Monday morning following the mysterious death of Lakhshman Lohar (46 years), a resident of Narayanpur Tea Estate. His lifeless body was discovered lying along the roadside, raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding his demise.
The local residents who found the body immediately informed the Dhekiajuli Police, prompting swift action from the law enforcement. A police team arrived at the scene, secured the area for investigation, and later transported the body to the Dhekiajuli Police Station for further examination. The remains were subsequently sent to Tezpur Medical College & Hospital for a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
While the authorities are yet to confirm the reason behind Lohar’s death, initial observations and statements from the victim’s family suggest a possible road accident. Sources close to the family suspect that a vehicle might have run over his head, as evident from the severe head injuries. However, officials have not ruled out other possibilities and are conducting a thorough probe to uncover the truth.
