
DIBRUGARH: The second edition of the Dibrugarh University International Literature Festival will take place from February 5-8 at the university. The event, organized in collaboration with the Foundation for Culture, Arts & Literature (FOCAL) of Guwahati, will host over 120 authors from 25 countries.
With more than 50 sessions and workshops, the festival aims to offer a platform for renowned global authors, poets, and scholars to share their insights and experiences. The festival will also feature a notable lineup of Indian authors, including several prominent writers from the North East.
Meanwhile, the fourth edition of the Kokrajhar Literary Festival began on Sunday at the Bodofa Cultural Complex in Kokrajhar. This grand event aims to bring together prominent authors, poets, and intellectuals from around the world to celebrate the diversity of literature.
With panel discussions, book launches, and engaging sessions, the festival has attracted over 100 renowned writers from India and abroad.
The festival was inaugurated by Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of BTC, who emphasized the importance of peace in the region after years of insurgency. He highlighted the Bodo community's struggles for their rights and culture.
Cabinet Minister UG Brahma spoke about the festival’s potential to unite literary minds and foster peace and harmony. Other dignitaries, including eminent journalist Mrinal Talukdar, and Jnanpith awardee Damodar Mauzo, attended the event. The festival also saw the release of several books, marking a significant cultural milestone for the region.
