Guwahati: The direct recruitment exam for the post of Grade III and IV of the Assam government will be held at 1,258 centers across the state on August 21 and 28, said SEBA Chairman, RC Jain here on Friday.

While addressing a press conference, Jain also asserted that the examination will be held under strict vigilance and that no untoward incident could take place during the examination.

He further informed that the students will not be allowed to bring mobile phone even if it is off. Besides this, the candidates will also be not allowed to carry any electronic items such as a smartwatch, health bands, electric scanner, Bluetooth devices, microphone, etc.

The candidates are even not allowed to carry calculators, Pendrive, paper sheets, etc including printed or written books.

''The candidates will only be allowed to carry the admit cards provided by the concerned authority, pen, pencil, eraser, credit card and debit card will only be allowed in the examination hall,'' he added.

Notably, Jain further apprised that Section 144 will be imposed within a radius of 100 meters around the examination centers.

In the wake of the CAA protest organized by NESO, Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika on Thursday urged the protestors who are protesting against CAA not to disrupt the upcoming examinations of grade III and IV posts in the month of August and September.

He appealed to protestors during a press conference at Janata Bhavan in Guwahati.

''On August 21, 28, and September 11 we will be conducting recruitment examinations of grade III and IV posts in 25 districts where as many as 14 lakh candidates will sit for the said exam. If the protestors do not disturb them or disrupt the examinations by holding a protest in these districts, we will be thankful to them,'' he added.

Speaking further over the protest against CAA by North East Students Organization (NESO) across the northeast, the minister said everyone is free to have their own beliefs and thoughts. Just like us.

''Anyone opposing the CAA has their own opinion and we don't disrespect them. But I would like to request them not to hamper or discourage these Assamese people by circulating fake information,'' he added.
