DIMA HASAO: The Dima Hasao Autonomous Council has unveiled a transformation at a lakeside place near Haflong Lake, now titled 'Eat Street Haflong'. The newly revamped destination has turned into a major tourist attraction for locals as well as tourists, which has now become a central hub for the youth due to its scenic beauty, cultural heritage, and leisure.

This is the area that was earlier considered a nuisance zone after nightfall. DHAC has thoroughly renovated this area by repairing the road, establishing colorful lights in the area, and planting greenery there to enhance the ambiance of the surroundings.

The application of wall paintings that highlights the ethnic diversity of Dimasa tribal culture and those of surrounding villages gives an extra twist to the scene.

New food joints have also popped up, offering delicious treats like Korean corn dogs, peri peri spiral potatoes, French fries, coffee, and masala lemonade, adding to the site’s charm.

People in the locality have appreciated the efforts of DHAC and said that it is a different scenario compared to the earlier neglected state. Now, seeing the site chock-a-block with activity, locals and tourists alike have applauded the council's effort to get Haflong up on the tourism map.

Haflong, already known for its natural beauty and tourist destinations, is now poised to further strengthen its reputation as a prime hill station in Assam with the addition of Eat Street Haflong to its list of attractions.
