DHEKIAJULI: Electioneering has gained momentum in Dhekiajuli. Congress candidate Benudhar Nath, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ashok Singhal, Bharatiya Gana Parishad candidate Sanjoy Dey, Assam Jatiya Parishad candidate Shatrughnna Sasoni, independent candidate and expelled BJP Tea Cell leader Tarun Sahu and their supporters have started door-to-door campaign.

BJP candidate Ashok Singhal and his supporters are putting in their best efforts to woo the voters. Recently Ashok Singhal allegedly had a conflict with some Bodo youths and it is expected that this will affect Singhal's electoral performance. Benudhar Nath, on the other hand, is also campaigning door-to-door in all the 10 wards of Dhekiajuli municipality area. Sanjoy Dey, who is contesting as a BGP candidate, has been campaigning in Dhekiajuli constituency areas. On the other hand, Tarun Sahu, who belongs to tea belt area, will get some support from tea garden area voters. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Saturday campaigned at Thelamara in favour of Ashok Singhal.
