Guwahati: Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS), one of the most prominent regional organizations of Assam, has decided to float a new political party to contest the ensuing 2021 polls, said General Secretary Bhasco-D-Saikia.

According to the peasant body's leader, this will be a completely new party that will seek to redress the wrongs done to the Assamese people by the Central as well as State Governments.

Saikia, addressing the press in Guwahati earlier today, said that this new political outfit shall not use name adopted by the KMSS's earlier political front: "Gana Mukti Sangram Axom".

The party will work for the welfare of all the tribal people and it will also work for the development of the people belonging to all the religions, cultures, and languages, Saikia declared in front of the press.

The peasant body's leadership has said that all the intellectual work of the party has already been completed.

The working structure of the KMSS' new political outfit has been named as "Axombaxir Jatiyo Kormoxusi." This will be the of the modern Assamese community's basic Record/document, opined the KMSS leader.

The programme, as well as party constitution, will be sent to KMSS' Union Samiti members and KMSS District President for their views. They will also be sent to the KMSS people's organizations for feedback.

According to the KMSS General Secretary Bhasco-D-Saikia, the motive behind the formation of this party would be to form "a politically federal, an economically self-reliant, culturally inclusive, and temperamentally scientific" Assam.

The KMSS leader has urged people who share a similar vision to join the party ahead of the crucial polls in the state which will see a number of political parties try and unseat the BJP from the top spot.

Saikia said that the Samiti is waiting for the release of its enigmatic leader Akhil Gogoi to kickstart its preparation for the Assembly polls. Gogoi is currently serving a sentence for his alleged role in the anti-CAA riots last year. Gogoi will formally announce the name of this upcoming political party.
