Assam: Engineer Wanted On Graft Charges Surrenders Before Udalguri Court

Guwahati: A wanted engineer of the irrigation department has surrendered himself before the Udalguri court in Assam.

As per reports, the engineer, identified as Satyaram Kalita, was wanted on graft charges as he is accused of being involved in Rs 4 crore 18 lakh scam.

He was escaping from the police since November 2021 after a case was filed against him by the former farmer leader Pankaj Asomiya at Udalguri's Tongla police station.

However, in connection with the same case, the accountant of the department named Prabhat Kalita was arrested on March 7 this year.
