Assam: Fake Certificate Racket Busted By Nagaon Police While Investigating Dacoity-Related Case

Nagaon: The Nagaon police have busted a fake certificate racket while investigating a dacoity-related case. 

While digging up information on a dacoity case that took place in Nagaon, several pieces of evidence brought the Nagaon police to unearth a fake certificate making chain.

The police found all kinds of duplicate certificates that are required in schools, colleges, universities, deposits, rents and more, in addition to birth and death certificates from the site of the incident.

As of now, the Nagaon police have recovered about 10,000 -12,000 duplicate certificates from the fake certificate chain.

The police have arrested one of the accused in this case who is identified as Maqbool Hussain. However, the main accused named Khaleq is still absconding.

This information was shared by the Director General of Police, Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, who lauded the Nagaon police for their efforts on his official Twitter account in a series of tweets.

Last month, the Nagaon police had arrested one Ashraful Rahman for running a fake driver's licence business.

Ashraful Rahman had been running this racket from his own DTP centre.
