Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu spoke about the issue on X, calling the document "FAKE" and shared a picture of the false paper. He assured students that the real Chemistry exam paper for today would not be pink and asked everyone to ignore the false information.

The incident has made people worry about false information spreading during exam season. Because of this, authorities are keeping a close watch on social media. Minister Pegu assured that the exam process is secure and advised students to focus on their studies using official sources.

Meanwhile, the Assam Higher Secondary (HS) Final Examination 2025 started on February 13, with 3,06,925 students taking part across the state. The exams had two shifts: the morning shift from 9 AM to 12 PM and the afternoon shift from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

To maintain fairness, all exam centers had CCTV cameras, and a special control room monitored them in real time. Strict rules were in place, including Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which banned unauthorized people from coming within 100 meters of the exam centers. The exams were conducted at 856 designated centres under strict supervision.

The Arts stream had the highest number of students, with 2,30,091 candidates. Science followed with 57,724 students, while Commerce had 17,869, and Vocational Education had 1,241 students. That year, more female students (1,62,423) took the exams than male students (1,44,502).
