Bokakhat: On Friday, Rojabari Higher Secondary School under the Bokakhat subdivision organized a warm welcome ceremony for the 135 newly admitted students of Class VI and 21 students of Class XI for the academic year 2025–26. As per tradition, the newcomers were welcomed with sandalwood marks and greeting cards.
In the same event, held under the supervision of in-charge Principal Bogai Chinte, 13 students who passed the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary Final Examinations with first division in 2025, as well as 12 students from Classes VI to X who secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranks in the annual examination, were felicitated and presented with academic awards.
Among the awardees, Rashmirekha Devi, who secured distinction in the HSLC exam, received the Khagen Saikia Memorial Academic Award along with a cash prize from Smritirekha Saikia on behalf of the donor family. Retired teacher Bijoyananda Hazarika presented the Tunkeswar Hazarika Memorial Academic Award, and Ritul Acharya, who scored 93 in Assamese, received the Chandrakanta Acharya Memorial Academic Award. Similarly, Raktim Gondhiya, who scored 95 in Assamese, was awarded the Dimbeswar Saikia Memorial Academic Award along with a cash prize by retired principal Parul Devi. Kiranjyoti Saikia received the Chandrakanta Acharya Memorial Award on behalf of the donor family for scoring 93 in Assamese.
In the Higher Secondary Final Examination, Dimpi Saikia, who scored the highest among female candidates from the school, was presented with the Prafulla Chandra Barthakur Memorial Academic Award by Pranab Barthakur of Jorhat. Nayanjyoti Saikia, who secured the highest overall marks in the school, received a special cash award from Principal Bogai Chinte.
Pranab Barthakur, Parul Devi, Bijoyananda Hazarika, Ritul Acharya from the donor families, and teachers Shikhamoni Gogoi, Ranjan Kalindi, Arjun Chetri, and Valentina Tamuly delivered motivational speeches. Students Niyaran Loing, Dhaneswar Kardong, and Vivek Chetri enhanced the charm of the event by singing melodious songs. The felicitation ceremony was conducted under the supervision of in-charge Principal Bogai Chinte.
