Assam: Five Dibrugarh Footballers to Represent Assam at B C Roy Trophy 2025–26 in MP

DIBRUGARH: In a significant achievement, five young footballers from Dibrugarh have been selected to represent Team Assam in the Junior Boys National Football Championship for the B C Roy Trophy 2025–26. The prestigious tournament is scheduled to take place from July 27 to August 5, 2025, in Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

The Dibrugarh District Sports Association (DDSA) officially announced the names of the selected players, who have earned this opportunity through sheer hard work and consistent performance at the grassroots level. The selected footballers are Durlov Jyoti Gogoi (Namrup Town Club), Tanmoy Baruah (Namrup Town Club), Monsoon Gogoi (Namrup Town Club), Pradumna Changmai (Timoma Football Academy), and Arup Karmakar (Borbaruah Football Coaching Centre).

Making Dibrugarh immensely proud by earning spots on the state team, these five athletes have shown exceptional skill and dedication in their respective clubs and academies.

DDSA officials extended their heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the players, expressing confidence that they will shine on the national stage and inspire many more youngsters from the district to pursue football professionally. As the countdown begins for the national tournament, the entire Dibrugarh sporting community stands firmly behind these rising stars.

Meanwhile, Assam registered a commanding 26-5 victory over Madhya Pradesh in their third group league match of the Senior National Rugby 7s Championship, held at the Indira Gandhi Athletics Stadium earlier in April.
