Assam: Free Earthen Lamps Distributed Among Citizens

HATSINGIMARI: A noble step was undertaken during this year’s festival of lights in the South Salmara-Mankachar District of the state. Earthen lamps of diyas were distributed free of charge among the poor people of a few localities in the South Salmara Mankachar district for the celebration of Diwali.

The action was initiated by the district president of the Bharatiya Janata Party for the South Salmara-Mankachar district of the state, Adhir Chandra Das. Under the aegis of the Assam State Unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, this activity was initiated in the district. The event was carried out in three gaon panchayats of the region. The names of these gaon panchayats are South Salmara. Monirchar and Tumani.

A total of 150 poor families from the Hindu community received these gifts on the occasion of the festival. The members of these families expressed their happiness on receiving the same from the political leader.

Meanwhile in the neighbouring state, on the occasion of Deepawali, SPARK organized a Special Eco Friendly Deepawali for the underprivileged children with the prime objective to brighten the lives of these less privileged children by making them enjoy the festival and experience it as they hardly get an opportunity to witness such occasion as they have to work to support their families and in the process, their precious childhood is lost.

As Deepawali signifies the festival of lights hence through this little initiative, we intend to bring light into the lives of these children and provide them a platform where they can enjoy to the fullest and forget all the burdens on their tender shoulders. Diwali also signifies the end of Evil and the Rise of Goodness. SPARK hopes that this Diwali ends all the evil and brings goodness and positivity to the lives of all especially these underprivileged and distressed children.
