NAGAON: A girls’ common room, built in memory of Krishnashree Devi, was inaugurated on Saturday last at Raidongia Holiram Saikia Higher Secondary School here. The common room was donated by former MP Bishnu Prasad in memory of his daughter Krishnashree Devi. Bishnu Prasad, a veteran politician, inaugurated the girls’ common room which is equipped with modern amenities. The event was attended by Krishna Mahanta, a senior advocate of the Gauhati High Court, who praised Bishnu Prasad’s initiative in building of the common room. Other dignitaries present at the event included Arijit Prasad, Krishnashree’s brother and an advocate at the Delhi High Court, Chena Ram Saikia, a retired government official, and Munindra Saikia, president of the school’s governing body, and other local residents, teachers, and students of the school.
