DHEKIAJULI: A solemn Vidyarambh and Orientation Programme was organized on Friday at the Government Model Degree College, Borsola, to mark the formal beginning of the academic journey for newly admitted students under the Four-Year Undergraduate Programme (FYUGP).

The event began with a warm welcome and inaugural address by the principal, Dr. Sukdev Adhikari, who extended heartfelt greetings to the students, faculty members, and dignitaries present.

A brief overview of the FYUGP academic framework was provided by the IQAC Co-ordinator of LOKD College, offering valuable insights into the new educational structure to help students navigate the curriculum with confidence.

The programme was graced by the District Commissioner of Sonitpur, Ananda Kumar Das, who symbolically planted an Amla sapling, underscoring the importance of ecological responsibility. He was joined in the plantation drive by CDC Dyotibha Borah, Circle Officer Nayanjyoti Pathak, and the president of the Governing Body.

DC Das also performed the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and officially inaugurated the newly constructed college building. Following the inauguration, he toured the campus, taking a close look at the institution’s infrastructure and facilities.

A formal meeting was held afterward, attended by CDC Dhekiajuli Dyotibha Borah, Circle Officer Nayanjyoti Pathak, the president of the Governing Body, faculty members, and students. Addressing the gathering, DC Das encouraged students to maintain a balance between academic excellence and strong moral values. He emphasized the importance of discipline, goal-setting, and building a sense of purpose early in their educational journey.
