Guwahati: The Assam Government has revealed the promotion of multiple Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers to senior positions, starting from January 1, 2025. These promotions acknowledge the officers' exceptional service in managing the state’s natural resources and contributing to public welfare.

Dr. Sonali Ghosh has been promoted to the rank of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. Ghosh, who previously served as the Chief Conservator of Forests and Field Director of Kaziranga National Park, has made significant contributions to forest conservation.

Sushil Kumar Daila, currently on Central Deputation, has been granted a proforma promotion to Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests. Similarly, P Sivkumar, also on Central Deputation, has received the same promotion.

Muanthang Tungnung, Chief Conservator of Forests, Research Education, and Working Plan in Assam, has been promoted to Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests as well.

Sunnydeo Indradeo Choudhary, Divisional Forest Officer of North Kamrup Division, has been elevated to the rank of Conservator of Forests, recognizing his work in the region.

Additionally, Rohini Ballave Saikia, attached to PCCF(WL) & CWLW, Assam, has been promoted to the Selection Grade, with the same pay scale. These promotions reflect the officers’ outstanding contributions to the state’s forest management and conservation efforts.

Earlier this month, a notification was issued by the Government of Assam regarding the appointments and promotions of senior police officers to streamline public service operations, effective from January 1, 2025.
