GUWAHATI: The government of Assam recently announced that it will be deploying a Religious Tourist Circuit in the coming days which will cover all regions starting from Batadrava to Coach Bihar.
On Wednesday 20 April the chief minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma informed about the decision of coming up with a religious tourist circuit.
The CM made the announcement during his visit to Batadrava Thaan in Assam's Nagaon. The religious tourist circuit will be beneficial for pilgrims travelling from Batadrava to Coach Bihar visited by Srimanta Sankardeva, the Vaisnav Saint of Assam.
Apart from this several other projects related to the Batdrava Thaan, the birthplace of Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva will be inaugurated on the 3rd anniversary of the BJP government said, CM Sarma.
He further stated that these projects will cost a total of about Rupees 200 crore and the developmental activities for Pautbaushii- the workplace of Sarkardeva will be taken up by the current year itself.
On mentioning about the Assam government's ambitious religious tourist circuit, the CM stated that plans were made for the construction of houses and monasteries for the devotees in the religious sites which will be covered by the same project.
The chief minister added earlier he had launched a series of projects that would cost a total budget of Rupees 22 crore and were expected to be completed in next the 1 year and 6 months.
Meanwhile, the construction work for the main monasteries and the developmental works on the theatre houses stand completed informed CM.
He also said that the Assam government will also plan for developmental activities related to Akashiganga and its nearby places in the 3rd phase of the development project.
Moreover, the government is also looking for an institution named after Aai Kanaklata so plans are made for the establishment of an educational institution in Batadrava added Sarma.
During his visit to Nagaon, Sarma inspected the ongoing work for the project in the religious sites and also directed the officials to ensure that the work gets completed on time.
